Values and Ethos

At Kirkham St Michael’s we aim to provide a safe, caring and friendly environment for all our pupils to allow them to learn effectively and help them to be the best that they can be both now and in the future – Learning For Life.

We aspire to excel in all areas of school life, challenging every child to go beyond their best in order for them to attain their full academic potential. We foster high expectations, ambitions and aspirations. We encourage independence, organisation, confidence and the whole community to be proud of their achievements – “Aiming for Excellence”.

As a Church School the Christian faith lies at the heart of our ethos and underpins the way we work and live together as a community. Learning to take care of ourselves and others and to be tolerant and forgiving are important lessons that stand our children in good stead as they grow up. Our children will be self-aware, sensitive and caring individuals. They will make positive life choices, respect each other and develop meaningful relationships  – “Guided by God”.

Our school is a place where everyone is valued in a safe, happy and healthy environment. It promotes, motivates, inspires and develops the boundless potential in everyone, filling all with the enthusiasm to play a positive role in our diverse society and beyond.
