Today is the end of career and aspirations week and we have had the best week ever! We have really enjoyed every person who we have met this week. Today to finalise the week we have had a visit from a Katie Wyper who originally came to St. michaels and she is now an athlete, a vet, wild discovery from Ribby hall and this afternoon an assembly by an actor! Fun packed day to finish of an amazing week!

Yesterday, it was day 4 of career and aspirations week and we had lots of visitor and trips out of school. In the morning we went to the co-op to see what it’s like to be a shop keeper. In the afternoon we then had a visit from Ann and Andy from Halifax bank. We really enjoyed all the fun activities they had planned for us!

This morning we were all super excited as we had a visit from Lee and Lewis the joiners who came to school to talk about their job. We got to help them make a birdhouse and use their tools safely. We then went back into class to practice our skills by hammering nails into bits of wood. Mrs. Booth thinks we might have some budding joiners in our class. Our hand eye co-ordination was amazing and none of us hit our fingers! Bonus!

This is afternoon we have a chef and an entrepreneur coming to visit us!

Today we have had a coastguard, a police man and lady, and a tree surgeon visit us for day 2 of career and aspirations week. We really enjoyed today as it was pretty jam packed! Lots of us really wanted to help Mr. Pickles and Stuart climb the trees and we really enjoyed listening to PC Trevor and PC Becca about what skills we need to be a police officer.

This week is the start of career and aspirations week. To kick start the week we had an assembly by Olympic gold medalist Craig Heap and then we all really enjoyed our gymnastic workshop with him.

This afternoon we have had a visit from a farmer and his tractor and an unexpected visit from 2 baby cows! Some of us were lucky enough to feed the baby before he got too full! ‍

We we are so excited about the rest of the week to meet lots of people who do different jobs. Stay tuned for more updates!

We found a dinosaur nest with frozen dinosaurs eggs in it! We had to work out how to set the dinosaurs free from the ice and we used some really good vocabulary.
